Permanent exhibition "Yuri Rysukhin Hall"
About exhibition
The Yuri Rysukhin Gallery, which operates at the M'ART Museum of Contemporary Art, is a collection of 200 works by the Honored Artist of Russia and an opportunity to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the "painting of a happy man." Museum guests can explore about 20 halls of Yuri Rysukhin, with displays arranged by themes and different periods of his work. Circus, Venice, The Seasons – in each hall visitors are immersed in a distinct mood. When visiting the Yuri Rysukhin Gallery, visitors will become acquainted with an artistic technique called levkas (gesso) and learn how the ancient icon-painting tradition has been preserved in contemporary art. They will also be able to appreciate two unusual museum locations – the artist's studio (where you can sometimes meet the artist in person and even get his autograph) and the open storage facility (a fundamentally new exhibition system, without the narrative of an exhibition context).
