The Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 touched every family and every person... In every large city and small village there is a Hall of Military Glory dedicated to this bitter and difficult period. The Alatyr Local History Museum is no exception. The museum has established a permanent exhibition devoted to the history of the city of Alatyr during the war years. Through the hall's special design, visitors can immerse themselves in a new reality — the reality of Memory... The exhibition features hundreds of unique documents and photographs, personal belongings of those who took part in the war, and wartime artifacts. Visitors can view photographic materials of graduates of the Alatyr Aeroclub and learn about Heroes of the Soviet Union, war participants, and medical personnel. They can also learn about Soviet military leaders: Lieutenant General N. A. Gagen, Lieutenant General I. A. Olenin, and Major General F. M. Panov. See the famous 'Drawings in Blood' by Zeithain concentration camp prisoner A. I. Pakhomov. The exhibition is complemented by the interior of a 1940s room, which allows visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of urban life during wartime.
