About exhibition
At present the museum's collection comprises about 12,000 works of Russian and Western European art from the 15th to the 20th centuries in various media and genres. The most significant part of the collection remains the section of Russian art, which includes icons and wooden sculpture of the 15th–18th centuries, as well as paintings, graphic works and sculpture by Russian artists of the 18th–20th centuries. Among the celebrated names of masters of Russian art are V. L. Borovikovsky, V. A. Tropinin, A. G. Venetsianov, I. K. Aivazovsky, A. K. Savrasov, I. I. Levitan, I. I. Shishkin, I. E. Repin, V. I. Surikov, V. A. Serov, K. A. Korovin, sculptors S. T. Konenkov, A. S. Golubkina and many others.
