Permanent exhibition 'Merchant I. S. Repin's Mansion'
About exhibition
The Repin Mansion is rightfully considered one of the most striking civic monuments of Vyatka architecture of the early 19th century. In 2016, repair and restoration work began in the mansion, and by 2025 a rich museum collection was presented to visitors. The museum's first floor is dedicated to the folk arts and crafts of Vyatka. Modern museum equipment and the new space have made it possible to present the toy in a completely new way. The folk arts and crafts are exhibited in two spaces: "The Tale of the Dymkovo Settlement" — more than 140 toys by craftswomen of different generations representing the history of the craft from the late 19th century to the present day — and the exhibition "Alexey Denshin and Vyatka Folk Arts and Crafts", which showcases the finest examples of folk-art craftwork collected by the main popularizer of Vyatka crafts. The second floor of the mansion houses a unique collection that includes objects from antiquity, paintings by representatives of the leading national schools of Western Europe from the Renaissance to the early 20th century, as well as foreign porcelain and glass. For those wishing to gain a deeper understanding of the exhibits, the exhibition halls feature interactive stations with additional information, games, 3D models, and tactile replicas for visitors with low vision and the blind.
