Permanent exhibition of the G. V. Yudin House‑Museum
About exhibition
The exhibition presents visitors with the legacy of G. V. Yudin, a merchant, distillery owner, bibliophile and book publisher. His famous library, which later became the core of the Slavic Department of the Library of Congress (USA), brought him fame during his lifetime. A special section of the exhibition displays materials dedicated to the Decembrist exiles who lived in Krasnoyarsk and other towns of the Yenisei Governorate. The Children's Museum Center hosts an exhibition of works by Krasnoyarsk artist A. P. Zolotukhin, "Little Train from Childhood." The history of the estate is associated with archaeologist I. T. Savenkov, who in the 1890s discovered a prehistoric site on Afontova Hill; revolutionary and statesman V. I. Lenin, who worked in the library in 1897 while exiled in Siberia; and engineer E. K. Knorre, who supervised construction of the railway bridge over the Yenisei in 1896–1899 and rented a wing of the estate. A model of the bridge made in Knorre's workshops was exhibited at the 1900 World's Fair in Paris. The admission ticket allows access to the permanent and temporary exhibitions. The ticket does not include guided tours. Contact phone: +7 (3912) 21-14-44.
