Permanent exhibition of the S. G. Pisakhov Museum

About exhibition

The museum tells the story of the life and work of Stepan Grigoryevich Pisakhov in the context of his time and history. Each of the eight halls has its own spatial, color and lighting design and is accompanied by quotations from the artist-storyteller's letters, articles and travel notes. The core of the exhibition is a collection of paintings and graphic works from the museum association's holdings, which is organically complemented by letters, manuscripts, books, personal belongings and photographs of the artist and writer, as well as items of folk everyday life and urban culture. The museum is equipped with audio and video installations. They broadcast Pisakhov's fairy tales and little-known essays, and the puppet Senya Malina personally tells a story to each visitor.
