Permanent exhibition of the GAZ History Museum
About exhibition
The main protagonists of the exhibition are the cars of the celebrated GAZ brand and the people who created them — the makers of history from the heroic first Five-Year Plans to the present day. Original documents and authentic objects tell the story of the construction of the Gorky Automobile Plant. At interactive terminals you can leaf through digitized blueprints of the first workshops and buildings. The postwar life of the country and the plant is illustrated by cars that became legends: Pobeda, GAZ-12 ZIM, GAZ-67 and GAZ-69, GAZ-21 Volga. The plant's pride is its trucks: GAZ-51, GAZ-63, GAZ-66, GAZ-53-12. Nearby are engines designed and produced at the plant in the 1960s–1980s. In a separate complex are the much-loved 'Volgas': GAZ-24, GAZ-3102, GAZ-31029, GAZ-3111. Durable, reliable, long-lasting — such descriptions have been applied to these cars in many countries. The modern model range is also on display. Using high technologies you can look inside a GAZelle NEXT, and sit behind the wheel of a GAZelle NN.
