Permanent exhibition «Fine Arts of Transbaikalia: 1930s–1980s»

About exhibition

For the first time in the Transbaikal Region a permanent exhibition of works from the museum’s collections has opened (unlike temporary shows, the exhibition runs for an extended period), featuring paintings, graphic works, and sculptures by the majority of Transbaikalian artists from the 1930s–1980s. The paintings include still lifes, landscapes, portraits, and narrative-themed works. The graphic sheets comprise linocuts, etchings, watercolors, and pencil drawings. Portrait sculptures are made of plaster, artificial stone, and chamotte (fireclay). Visitors will see works by masters of the first half of the 20th century I. Sverkunov, I. Zhukov, N. Verkhoturov, P. Kashkarova, and works by front-line artists M. Artamonov, I. Blokhin, N. Zavyalova, D. Ivanova, V. Kodina, Yu. Kuznetsova, L. Novitsky, I. Rudakova, A. Fedotova. Also presented are works by Honored Artists of Russia V. Forova, Ya. Shplatova, Yu. Kruglova, L. Ryzhova, E. Druzhinina, V. Kandalova, and R. Tsymbalo.
