The A. V. Shchusev State Research Museum of Architecture is the world's first specialized museum of architecture and the only one in Russia that preserves and studies objects related to world and Russian architecture. The museum's exhibition spaces include three buildings: the enfilade of the main house of the 18th–19th-century Talyziny-Ustinov estate, the renovated wing "Ruina", and the medieval space of the Apothecary Prikaz – the 17th-century refectory chambers. The museum hosts exhibitions devoted to the history of domestic and foreign architecture, contemporary architecture, art, painting, and related disciplines. The permanent exhibition includes "Kalyazin. Frescoes of the Flooded Monastery", which presents the results of many years of work on the study and preservation of the unique collection of fresco paintings from the Trinity-Makariev Monastery. In the museum courtyard you can see a collection of sculptures – original fragments of Osip Bove's Triumphal Arch, 19th–20th-century fence grilles, and 18th–19th-century garden and park sculpture.
