Permanent exhibition of the V. I. Lenin House‑Museum
About exhibition
The first Lenin museum is located in the house owned in Simbirsk by the Ulyanov family from 1878 to 1887. The educator I. N. Ulyanov — head of the family — lived and worked here; Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (Lenin) spent his gymnasium years here. He was a politician who had a profound influence on the course of historical events in Russia and the world in the 20th century. The museum presents a historical‑documentary exhibition about the life of the Ulyanov family. The restored estate is an example of residential architecture in a provincial town and comprises a domestic complex consisting of a garden‑park area and a courtyard section with utility outbuildings and equipped children's play areas.
