About exhibition

Exhibition for the 80th anniversary of the Victory. While hostilities continue, artists create images that help capture and fix the feat in memory and, on a symbolic level, bring victory closer. The exhibition will help trace, through art, the Russian tradition of prevailing: how an image was constructed, when dynamics are necessary and when a freeze-frame should be used — through a series of masterpieces of the battle genre the viewer will be shown the courage, resilience and honour of the whole people. The exhibition will present works from the RGI collections and media installations based on masterpieces of the Russian battle genre, as well as several installations by contemporary artists.
