Solo exhibition of Lev Serikov
About exhibition
Lev Serikov is a renowned Siberian sculptor, an Honored Artist of Russia. The artist is distinguished by a highly individual style: he works with Siberian cedar wood, emphasizing the natural grain and cracks of the wood and making them part of the artistic image. The solo exhibition is timed to coincide with Lev Serikov's 80th birthday: the project brings together the sculptor's best works from the last 30 years. The exhibition features several series: "Great Artists and Writers" — ironic portraits of well-known creators who appear as living people with their own characters and weaknesses. "Christian Parables" — a series of sculptures based on Gospel narratives. The cycle devoted to ancient myths is a reimagining of well-known legends of Ancient Greece. The exhibition is complemented by a free audio guide that reveals the themes and hidden meanings of the works.
