Alexey Semin's Solo Exhibition 'Copper Wings of Etching'
About exhibition
Rodina Exhibition Hall presents a solo exhibition by Moscow Union of Artists member Alexey Semin, 'Copper Wings of Etching'. Copper etching (aquatint) is a form of etching and one of the most complex and labor-intensive techniques of intaglio printing, or so-called intaglio engraving, allowing the creation of editioned prints with a rich tonal surface composed of the finest dots. "Etching puts a mystical tool into the artist's hands: the perfect point and the flawless stroke. With this binary code one can express thoughts of any complexity. My prints are thoughts about beauty, the undying spark of life and eternal wanderings," the artist reflects. Visitors will see concise, tranquil landscapes, fantastical narrative portraits, images of heroes from the mythologies of various countries and peoples, and much more. In all the works the theme of the mesmerizing beauty of the world is touched upon and revealed. The exhibition is aimed at a wide audience and will run until February 23, 2025.
