Traveling exhibition "Traditions and Life of the Peoples of Siberia"

In 2025, Irkutsk Oblast will celebrate its 88th anniversary. Siberia is home to people of many different nationalities: Russians, Buryats, Yakuts, Tatars, Khakas, Khanty, Evenks and many other peoples. The works included in the exhibition reveal the everyday life and customs of the indigenous peoples of Siberia. A. O. Pogrebnoy – "Mongolia. Woman." The painting, executed in a graphic technique (pastel), depicts a Buryat woman in traditional dress. The artist painted her portrait while traveling through Mongolia. "Yurt" – a work from the same series, shows the most common dwelling of nomadic peoples. K. A. Shebodaeva – "Hospitality." The illustration depicts a Buryat in traditional costume, hospitably spreading his arms (a free interpretation). In the painting "Dance of the Shamans" four shaman figures can be seen moving in a whirl of ritual dance, and four musicians are seated on the ground. In this traveling exhibition, the works vividly and colorfully display the national characteristics of the Buryats, Tuvans, Evenks and Mongols.
