Traveling exhibition 'SVO and Heroes'

About exhibition

The traveling exhibition 'SVO and Heroes' is dedicated to contemporary Heroes of Russia — participants in the special military operation. The exhibition draws a parallel between the past and the present through the real-life stories of SVO participants and of those who took part in local conflicts of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The traveling exhibition features panels describing the events of the reunification of Crimea with Russia, post-Soviet Ukraine (1991-2022), the dissolution of the USSR, the tragedy of the civilian population of Donbas, the formation of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR), the accession of new territories, and the precursors and the beginning of the special military operation. The traveling exhibition project was created in accordance with the 'Methodological Recommendations for Creating Exhibitions Dedicated to the History of the Special Military Operation in Museums of the Russian Federation', developed in 2023 by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia (a Federal State Budgetary Cultural Institution), and the Association 'Russian Historical Society'.
