Traveling exhibition «900 Blockade Days»
About exhibition
The centerpiece of the exhibition is the graphic triptych “Construction of the Monument to the Defenders of the City of Leningrad” — the famous Leningrad monument erected in 1975 on Victory Square. The work’s group portraits depict two generations of Leningraders. The faces of the siege veterans convey inner strength and resilience. The faces of the young builders of the monument are full of optimism and a creative spirit — in granite and bronze they immortalize for future generations the feat of the residents and defenders of Leningrad. The triptych’s author is Sergey Alekseevich Kirpichev — a Leningrad graphic artist and Honored Worker of Culture of Russia. The exhibition is supplemented by photographs and reference-information material about besieged Leningrad and about the monument erected in memory of the indomitable steadfastness of the residents and soldiers who defended the city during the Great Patriotic War. The museum organizes the exhibition both at its own premises and on trips to schools, colleges, and universities. To book the exhibition with a guided tour for a group, call: 42-39-29, 42-30-35.
