About exhibition
The main exhibition of the Department of Foreign Art is presented by works of painting, graphics, sculpture and decorative-applied arts of European schools, as well as by works of masters from Persia and China, India and Vietnam, displayed in the Hall of Art of the Peoples of Asia and the East. Of particular interest are the paintings by Д. Б. Пьяццетты, Н. Бамбини, Ф. Томашу, В. Мали, О. Мюзена, the works of German sculptors, and the collection of foreign ceramics of the 18th–19th centuries. The graphic collection of the Department of Foreign Art of the Astrakhan State Art Gallery comprises works by graphic artists of the German, French and Dutch schools of the 18th–20th centuries. A significant part of the collection was formed by the engraving collection of the bibliophile and patron I. A. Repin (1841–1908), which is represented by well-known European masters: М. Денте, Ж. Калло, Д. Белла, Ф. Бароччи, Д. Б. Пиранези, Р. Сен-Нона, Ф. Базана, К. Дитрици.
