Main Exhibition of the Museum of Cosmonautics
About exhibition
The history of the Museum of Cosmonautics began in the second half of the 20th century, when in 1964 the monument "To the Conquerors of Space" appeared on the map of Moscow. The titanium rocket at VDNKh became a symbol of the major technological leap of its time. The launch of the first artificial Earth satellite, the first living creatures and the first human in space marked the starting point of world astronautics. Today the Museum of Cosmonautics is one of the largest scientific and historical museums in the world. Here you will learn about the history of space exploration — from the visionary projects of the Kaluga dreamer Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky to modern orbital stations. Visitors can see all the main artifacts of Soviet, Russian and global cosmonautics: the first satellites and automatic probes, the spacesuits of Yuri Gagarin and Alexei Leonov, and models of the world's cosmodromes.
