Main exhibition of the V. L. Pushkin House Museum
About exhibition
The V. L. Pushkin House Museum invites you to visit its main exhibition. In this small wooden mansion on Staraya Basmannaya Street lived the great poet's uncle — Vasily Lvovich Pushkin, a noted poet of the early 19th century. He was the author of the first manifestos of the Karamzin school, a leading figure in the 'Arzamas' literary society, and the creator of the poem 'The Dangerous Neighbor,' the appearance of which in 1811 caused a literary sensation. The collection includes works of visual and decorative arts, furniture and furnishings, and books from the 18th century to the first third of the 19th century. Visitors can learn about the life and works of Vasily Pushkin and about his relationship with his nephew. The mansion's interiors have been recreated to reflect the rooms frequented by many famous writers, as well as the atmosphere of a hospitable Moscow home.
