Guided overview tour of the diptych exhibition "Train No. 143. Front-line Soldier Konstantin Yesenin"
About exhibition
The tour acquaints visitors with two major milestones in Russia's history and tells of the participation of father and son, Sergey and Konstantin Yesenin, in the First and Second World Wars. Immersed in the atmosphere of a military medical train from World War I, participants will learn about Sergey Yesenin's service as an orderly on the 'hospital on wheels' and at the Tsarskoye Selo lazaret, and will gain an understanding of the poet's work and his circle during 1914–1916. The program continues with the story of the poet's son's combat path on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, his feats and awards. Scenes of peacetime life complement the wartime history: Konstantin Sergeyevich's memories of his childhood years spent with his mother Zinaida Reich and his stepfather Vsevolod Meyerhold. Also addressed is the younger Yesenin's chief pastime — football. At the end of the tour, participants will be able to play a friendly tabletop match right in the exhibition hall.
