About exhibition

The depository houses a museum furniture collection totaling 214 storage items. The collection began in 1973 when the museum was given a two-seater wooden sofa from the 1960s. The furniture that once “belonged” in city residents’ homes and later entered the museum’s holdings was made in workshops in Stavropol and Samara. Some pieces were donated by citizens who came to Stavropol from other places to build the Kuybyshev Hydroelectric Station. The museum depository, opened in 2011 by the local history museum, became the first open museum storage facility in the Samara Region. Includes visits to collection exhibitions: “Ringing History” – here more than 500 bells are presented, including decorative and harness bells, table bells, hanging bells, call bells, metal, glass, ceramic, porcelain, faience, wooden ones... They are accompanied not by labels but by a card index containing interesting information and recordings of the “voices” of some of them. “Speaks and Shows…” – here you will see televisions, radiolas, stereo systems, tape recorders, radios of various operating principles, makes and years of manufacture, from the 1930s to the 1980s (20th century).
