Multimedia project "Cosmic Michelangelo. Human–Cosmos"
About exhibition
This is a high-tech exhibition project that immerses the viewer in a unique meditative atmosphere of experiencing space. The narrative is told in the first person, as if Alexey Leonov himself is speaking about his art, the Universe, the stars, humanity, planet Earth, and his homeland. The video mapping presents computer graphics, archival footage, timelapses, and views of space and various celestial objects. Some of Alexey Leonov's paintings are animated, including with the use of neural networks. Many works were created based on sketches made during a flight aboard the space station. The visual sequence — including footage from the film 'The Age of Pioneers', installations, musical compositions, and special effects — all work to give visitors the impression that they are looking at earthly life from outer space, prompting reflection on humanity's place in the Universe and the future of space exploration.
