Literary and Memorial Exhibition of the S. A. Yesenin Museum
About exhibition
The museum's memorial building was constructed in 1891 to a design by architect M. V. Medvedev. This is the only place in Moscow where the poet lived and was registered from 1911 to 1918. Many of his immortal works were written here. The exhibition was created by a group of enthusiasts and presented to the city in 1996. An unusual artistic approach has created the atmosphere in which the poetry was born. The museum emphasizes Yesenin's Moscow period of life and work, while also tracing the poet's entire creative path. The exhibition concludes with the theme “Yesenin as Part of World Culture,” where the poet's work is presented alongside that of outstanding figures of world culture. Here you can see Yesenin's personal belongings, manuscripts and publications released during his lifetime, rare documents, and photographs of the poet and his circle.
