The literary exhibition 'Cold Mind and Ardent Heart' presents the creative biography of Nikolai Dobrolyubov, from his earliest youthful poems to his well-known critical articles devoted to the works of A. N. Ostrovsky, I. A. Goncharov, I. S. Turgenev, and F. M. Dostoevsky. It examines the influence of literary criticism and of Dobrolyubov himself on public life and on the development of the creative process. In the exhibition Dobrolyubov is shown not only as a stern man of letters but also as a caring son and brother, a devoted friend, and a person capable of experiencing deep emotions.
