Combined ticket "V. Borisov-Musatov Estate"
About exhibition
The estate is the place where Viktor Borisov-Musatov spent his childhood and youth; it was here that his path in art began. He returned here from his travels, and some of his finest works were created here. The estate itself has an extraordinary history. The V. Borisov-Musatov Estate came to the attention of the artist's friends and close circle almost immediately after his death; they worked hard to preserve his memory. Despite all the upheavals of the 20th century, this corner of Saratov did not disappear or become absorbed by modern urban development. From the late 1970s and in 1984, when part of the estate—the memorial wing—was transferred to the Radishchev Museum, the long process of reviving the entire historical and cultural complex began. Since 2000, when the estate began operating as a museum in the memorial wing, it has been well known beyond Saratov. Now, after the restoration of the Musatov family house, the museum complex has acquired a complete form, fully associated both with the name of V. Borisov-Musatov and with the culture of Saratov at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries.
