Visitors can tour the main building of the Zabaykalsky Regional Museum of Local Lore, housed in a historic building built in 1914. Visitors can see the unique "Nature Calendar" of Transbaikalia, taxidermy specimens of a bear and an Amur tiger, and exhibitions dedicated to the ancient history and culture of the peoples of Transbaikalia. The "Three Centuries with China" exhibition tells of the complex relations between Russia and its powerful neighbor. The exhibition "From the Trans-Siberian Railway to the BAM" is devoted to the controversial history of the 20th century. Temporary exhibitions held at the museum are also open to visitors.
