Exhibitions in the exhibition halls
About exhibition
The exhibition space of the Apatity City Palace of Culture is a modern multifunctional cultural center that combines exhibition and concert halls and a local history exhibition. The interiors, renovated in 2023, expanded the functionality and range of possibilities of the space, transforming it into the city's cultural and business center. The space regularly serves as a venue for municipal and regional events, hosts traveling exhibitions, and organizes temporary event and thematic shows. The core of the painting collection comprises works by members of the creative association "Gallery M", the collection of the artist Nikolai Vladimirov, as well as paintings by individual Murmansk artists. One of the most striking exhibits of the permanent collection is a contemporary art object — the labyrinth "Room of Geniuses". Artist Yan Ginzburg created this installation as a variation on an "honor roll", where portraits of politicians and well-known figures significant to the Soviet period are gathered. The permanent exhibition also includes the materials of the panels of the historical and local history hall, which are based on exhibits and archival materials from the museum of the "Apatitstroy" trust. Each panel reveals a specific period in the development of the town of Apatity and is accompanied by photographs and museum texts, which allows visitors to orient themselves independently within the exhibition.
