Exhibitions at the 'Izhad' Exhibition Hall
About exhibition
The exhibition hall features solo and group exhibitions, children's art shows, and exhibitions by artists from the Republic of Bashkortostan and other regions of the Russian Federation. You will see works of painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts from the collection of the M. V. Nesterov Bashkir State Art Museum, as well as from other creative organizations and artists' collections. The origin of the collection and the founding of the museum are linked to the gift of M. V. Nesterov. Wishing "to contribute to the artistic education of his fellow countrymen", in 1913 the artist donated to his native city a collection of Russian painting and graphics from the second half of the 19th to the early 20th century: 102 works, including canvases and graphic sheets by I. E. Repin, I. I. Shishkin, N. A. Yaroshenko, V. D. Polenov, V. E. Makovsky, I. I. Levitan, K. A. Korovin, A. Ya. Golovin, A. N. Benois, N. K. Roerich and other outstanding masters. Also unique in the museum's collection is the painting collection of the 'father of Russian Futurism' D. D. Burliuk (1882–1967): 38 works. In terms of quantity and quality, this is the largest museum collection of Burliuk's works in Russia.
