Exhibitions of the Water Tower at the Plotinka
About exhibition
The Water Tower in the Historical Square at the Plotinka is one of the symbols of Yekaterinburg, a monument of late 19th-century industrial architecture. Built in the early 1890s, the tower has changed along with the city for one and a half centuries. It has been part of the railway workshops, a residential building, a souvenir shop, and in 1995 became a branch of the Museum of the History of Yekaterinburg. Today the first floor of the tower houses a visitor center where you can buy city guidebooks and branded souvenirs, and enjoy views of the historic center from the window over a cup of coffee. The second floor features a museum exhibition dedicated to the history of the 18th–19th-century factory, the tower itself, and its inhabitants.
