Exhibitions at the V. P. Sukachev Estate
About exhibition
The V. P. Sukachev Estate is a federal monument of history and culture. It belonged to the prominent public figure of the second half of the 19th century, V. P. Sukachev — a city mayor, philanthropist, and the founder of an art gallery that became the basis of the Irkutsk Art Museum. The estate is a unique architectural and park complex, comprising the art gallery building with a winter garden, a servants' house, service buildings with a stable, a guest wing, a pavilion on a small hill, and a park laid out as a landscape garden. The main building houses a permanent memorial and art exhibition dedicated to the life and activities of V. P. Sukachev. The halls display both items that belonged to the owners themselves and period objects — paintings, porcelain, and antique furniture. In the other historic buildings you can see various temporary exhibitions, including works by contemporary artists. A single admission ticket to the estate allows visitors to see most of them.
