Exhibitions of the I. A. Goncharov Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore
About exhibition
The museum has several diverse halls. In the natural history department you can see dioramas depicting characteristic elements of the region's landscapes — steppes, aquatic and forest environments — and learn about the relief of Ulyanovsk Oblast, its mineral resources and geological past, as well as its contemporary plant and animal life. The history department displays more than 500 exhibits that illuminate the region's history from ancient times up to the events of the February Revolution of 1917. The exhibition titled War. Victory. Memory is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War and to Ulyanovsk being awarded the title City of Labor Valor. The materials presented in the exhibition reflect the contribution of Ulyanovsk residents — soldiers and home-front workers — to the Victory. The exhibition displays authentic objects and photographs from the museum's collection. Audio recordings and video content help immerse visitors in the atmosphere of life in a home-front city.
