Exhibitions of the Tula Regional Museum of Local History
About exhibition
The Tula Regional Museum of Local History presents the history of the Tula region from ancient times to the Great Patriotic War. The exhibition comprises ten halls. Visitors will see fossil fragments of Ice Age animals, remarkable archaeological finds, weapons, awards, gingerbread molds, and accordions. The mysterious Culture Hall, styled as a 19th-century library, amazes guests. In the center of the hall are luxuriously decorated 18th-century altar Gospels. Special attention is given to military victories and the valor of Tula's residents. You can view authentic relics from the time of the Battle of Kulikovo, the defense of the Tula Kremlin against enemy raids in the 16th century, the Patriotic War of 1812, the Crimean War, the feat of the legendary cruiser Varyag, World War I and, of course, the Great Patriotic War. The youngest visitors will be delighted by the Nature Hall, which introduces the inhabitants of Tula's forests, steppes, and waterways.
