Exhibitions dedicated to the history of Sarepta
About exhibition
The exhibitions dedicated to the history of Sarepta are located in two late 18th-century buildings, among the oldest surviving structures in the city of Volgograd. The halls in the "Goldbach Trading House" introduce the history of the founding of the Herrnhut colony and the contribution of the Sareptans to the development of the region's industry and agriculture. Visitors descend into an old late 18th-century cellar and visit the unique "Museum of Russian Mustard." At the exhibition "The World of Ancient Animals by Alexander Knobloch" they can see extremely rare items, for example, the wool of a mammoth that lived about 40,000 years ago. The collection in the "House of the Sarepta Apothecary" features the interiors of the apothecary hall and the living rooms of a Sarepta apothecary from the late 19th to the early 20th century.
