Exhibitions of the Langepas Museum and Exhibition Center
About exhibition
The exhibitions at the Museum and Exhibition Center are organized around narrative and visual themes, allowing visitors to form a coherent picture of the culture and history of life on the small piece of land where the city of Langepas now stands. The Ethnography Hall tells the story of the Khanty people who live in the basin of the Agan River. At the core of this exhibition is the human life cycle, from birth to death. The Ancient History Hall is based on materials from archaeological excavations of the Langepas settlement. The Yugra Nature Hall showcases the diversity of local wildlife and plant life. Outdoor displays include dioramas of a winter forest, a lakeshore, and a capercaillie lek. A traditional chum, complete with interior furnishings, attracts considerable attention. The exhibition "The History of Oil and Gas Field Development" tells of the development of the oil and gas region and the formation of the territorial production enterprise "Langepasneftegaz." The City History Hall recounts the construction and modern life of the town. "Siberian Province" is the title of an exhibition dedicated to geological explorers, who can rightfully be called true heroes, conquerors of the North, and bold romantics. The "Russian Homestead" exhibition recreates peasant life at the turn of the 20th century and provides an immersive experience of the customs and traditions of the Russian people. Temporary exhibitions are held in the spacious halls of the art gallery.
