Exhibitions of the Museum of Memory of Soldiers of War and Law and Order
About exhibition
At the exhibition "Zavolzhye during the Great Patriotic War" visitors will learn about the history of the village of Bezrodnoye, the construction of the railway during the war years, aviation artillery, the fleet and medicine of Zavolzhye, as well as documents, letters and memoirs of participants of the Battle of Stalingrad. They will learn about the museum's most notable exhibits: a wartime dugout, weapons, awards and uniforms of participants of the Battle of Stalingrad and law enforcement officers. The exhibition "History of the Volzhskaya Militsiya over 60 Years" tells about the birth of the Soviet militsiya, the participation of NKVD units in the Battle of Stalingrad, law enforcement agencies' involvement in the construction of the hydroelectric power station, and Volzhsk militsiya members' participation in counter-terrorist operations in Chechnya and Afghanistan. In a separate hall visitors can get acquainted with the current daily life and work of all divisions of the Volzhsk police — the duty unit, criminal investigation, forensic experts, GAI (State Traffic Inspectorate), PPS (Patrol-Post Service) and others. They will learn many interesting details about the displayed improvised office of NKVD–MVD chiefs of the 1950s, district inspectors of the 1970s, and a GAI officer's motorcycle from the 1960s, which is in working condition.
