Exhibits at the Weapons Museum in the House of Shamil
About exhibition
The exhibition mainly displays military weapon specimens. A significant number of civilian, including custom and artisan-made, weapons from the 18th–19th centuries allow visitors to see original items that were, as a rule, made to individual order. Particular emphasis is placed on weapon groups from the period of the Patriotic War of 1812, the Crimean War of 1854–1856, the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878, the Polish Uprising of 1863, and the First World War. A considerable portion of the items has not been exhibited before. The exhibition provides an opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the unique collection of weapons and defensive armament that was assembled over more than 100 years at the Kaluga United Museum-Reserve.
