Exhibitions of the Stone Museum and the Antonov Gem-Cutting House
About exhibition
The V. A. Pelepenko collection comprises more than 1,000 diverse exhibits. In the museum it is arranged across three halls: “Minerals of the World” — unique stones from Latin America, Africa and Asia. For example, here you can see a rare type of calcite of which there are only three specimens in the world — and all three are on display here. “Minerals of Russia” — malachite, jasper, rock crystal. In addition to unprocessed samples, examples of lapidary art are exhibited: figurines, caskets, jewelry boxes, stone pictures and even stone pieces of furniture. “Paleontology” — samples of fossilized animal remains more than 400 million years old (ammonites and fragments of dinosaur skeletons). Alexey Antonov’s Gem-Cutting House features unique works of lapidary and jewelry art. Ural masters are the only ones in the world to continue the techniques of three-dimensional lapidary mosaic as well as the traditions of Fabergé and Denisov-Uralsky. The exhibition presents exclusive lapidary works, a collection of stone flowers, and unique fantasy cuts!
