"Who hasn't been to Tetyushi hasn't seen fish!" This is the inscription that greets museum visitors. And indeed, the richness of the Volga fishing grounds and the convenient routes by water and land have long favored the development of the fishing trade. The original interior layout, neon lighting, a glass niche in the floor with sand, ancient mollusks and seaweed create an impression of an underwater world. The museum houses mainly authentic exhibits supplemented by supporting materials. Many are so ancient that they existed long before the emergence of mankind. Impressive are the remains of creatures that inhabited the planet and became extinct 100–200 million years B.C. — fossil ammonites, belemnites, the skeleton of an ichthyosaur and others. Bright model displays clearly demonstrate the emergence of Tetyushi as a settlement on the Volga shore, allowing visitors to plunge into the era of the burlaks and feel their hard labor. In addition, the fisherman's homestead is rich and interesting, where you will learn not only about ancient tackle but also about fishing practices and crafts, as well as the everyday life of fishermen.
