Exhibitions of the Museum of Stone‑Cutting and Jewelry Art

About exhibition

The museum's main exhibition acquaints visitors with the history of artistic stoneworking from the 19th to the early 20th century, the works of the Yekaterinburg Faceting Factory, malachite objects, the production of the "Russian Gems" plant in the 20th century, and contemporary original gemstone‑carving and jewelry art. A source of pride for the museum's collection are the gemstone‑carving and jewelry pieces by the world‑famous firm of Carl Fabergé (they can be seen in the "Golden Treasury"), and since 2015 the "Emerald Room" has been very popular. For young visitors the "Bazhov Hall" is permanently open, bringing together the astonishing metal and stone works from the world of Bazhov's tales and a unique early‑21st‑century cultural monument — large painted lacquer panels created by Palekh masters. Every month the museum opens new exhibitions on diverse themes related to its collections; lectures, creative events and master classes are held.
