Exhibitions of the 'Bunker' Museum

About exhibition

The 'Bunker' Museum consists of two monolithic blocks; the construction materials are cement, sand, granite and glass. The shelter is 42 meters long, 15 meters wide and 7 meters deep. It contains 21 rooms. In March 1945 the headquarters of the German fascist troops under the command of General Otto Lasch moved into this bunker. The museum in the bunker was opened in 1968. The main part of the exhibition is devoted to the assault on the fortress-city of Königsberg by Soviet troops from 6 to 9 April 1945. It presents five dioramas of Königsberg from the period of active fighting. On the evening of 9 April 1945, when fighting continued only in the city center, the Soviet command sent two groups of negotiators to Lasch at the bunker. The first consisted of three men: Guards Lieutenant Colonel P. G. Yanovsky, Captains A. E. Fedorko and V. M. Shpitalnik. The second group was led by Major A. Ya. Kruglov. Both groups took part in the negotiations and then safely returned to the Soviet forces. What happened to the Soviet negotiators at the German command post? The museum exhibition tells about this. A ticket under the "Pushkin Card" program can be purchased via the link.
