About exhibition

The exhibition begins with archaeology and paleontology: huge bones of extinct animals — representatives of the mammoth era. The museum also presents the operations of a copper-smelting plant and the development of gold mining, lets visitors enter a Bashkir yurt and a craftsman's log house, walk along the street of old Miass and peek into merchant houses, as well as learn about the work of mining engineers and see the products of a saw-blade factory evacuated to Miass from Riga shortly before the Revolution. Special attention is drawn to the exhibition complexes 'Prospector's Hut' and 'Iron and Hardware Shop' — they are richly filled with authentic, unique exhibits.
