Exhibitions of the Memorial Museum-Estate of the Artist Nikolai Yaroshenko
About exhibition
The Nikolai Yaroshenko Memorial Museum-Estate is a unique monument to the history and culture of southern Russia, and the only preserved Russian noble estate of the second half of the 19th century in this region. The centerpiece is the "White Villa" — the home of Nikolai Alexandrovich and Maria Pavlovna Yaroshenko. Five rooms house an extensive collection: more than 100 original works by the artist, including paintings, drawings and watercolors, as well as phototypes of his works, antique furniture and interior items. Wing No. 1 presents studies and works by well-known Peredvizhniki (Itinerants), including Alexei Savrasov, Ivan Kramskoi, Grigory Myasoedov, Ivan Pryanishnikov, Vasily Maksimov, Vladimir Makovsky and Arkhip Kuindzhi. You can also see works by Mikhail Nesterov, Nikolai Dubovsky, Nikolai Kasatkin and Apollinary Vasnetsov, who were frequent guests of Yaroshenko. Wing No. 2 serves as a venue for thematic exhibitions and displays of paintings and graphic works from the museum's collections.
