The Krasnoarmeysky Museum was opened in 1987 as a community museum and became a local history museum in 1997. Its holdings contain 6,500 items. The museum's exhibits include objects from ethnographic and decorative-applied arts collections, documents and photographs from the late 19th to early 20th centuries, and a collection of ceramic pieces by craftsmen from the village of Zolotoe dating from the early 20th century to the 1980s. Among the museum's particularly valuable items is a collection of rare books, including 'Svyattsy' (18th century), an alphabet book for parish schools (early 20th century), an Akathist (19th century), Lutheran and Catholic liturgical books, and school textbooks from 1917 through the 1950s. The main exhibition also presents information on collectivization and the repressions of the 1930s-1940s, the establishment of light industry and machine-building enterprises based on cottage workshops, the heroes of the front and the home front during the Great Patriotic War (World War II), and contemporary events.
