Exhibitions of the Local History Building of the Sergiev Posad Museum-Reserve
About exhibition
The ticket price includes admission to the main exhibition and two displays. The exhibition 'Sergiev Posad in the 20th Century' presents everyday life in the town of Sergiev Posad in the first half of the 20th century: its steady pace at the beginning of the century, the post-revolutionary changes that turned the town into an industrial center, the contribution of its residents to the Great Victory, and changes in culture and everyday life in the 1950s. The exhibition 'Art. War. The Militia.' dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory features wartime puppets by various makers. The beloved Petrushka occupies the honored central place in the hall — during the war years this puppet became the most popular hero of wartime performances. The display reveals the fates of puppeteers, artists, and craftsmen of traditional arts who fought near Vyazma in the autumn of 1941 as part of the Moscow militia. The exhibition 'Archaeology of the Sergiev Posad Land' presents over 500 exhibits — extremely rare monuments from the Stone Age to the early Middle Ages unearthed by the museum's archaeological expeditions over the years from the territories of Sergiev Posad and neighboring regions.
