About exhibition

The museum was opened as a public institution in 1980. The founder of the museum is G. M. Kulikov. The museum's collections comprise over 12,000 storage units. These include collections of archaeology, painting, documents and rare books. The museum's exhibition is housed in six halls and includes the sections: “Balanda in the pre-revolutionary period”, “Balandinsky District during the Great Patriotic War”, “Herald of the People's Soul” (an exhibition dedicated to the well-known writer and public figure M. N. Alekseev), “The Native Land Through the Eyes of Artists”, “Our Fellow Countrymen – Notable Figures in Science, Culture and Art”, “The Nature of Our Region”.
