About exhibition
In the halls of the Kaliningrad Regional Museum of History and Art a visitor will discover the mysteries of past millennia and contemporary evidence of regional history: the region's richest paleontological, taxidermy and herbarium collections; priceless antiquities of the area found by archaeologists and treasure hunters; the material heritage of Russian–Prussian relations and artistic interpretations of figures inscribed in the region's history — Peter I (Peter the Great), Immanuel Kant, E.T.A. Hoffmann, Kristijonas Donelaitis; unique testimony to the military feats of Russian soldiers on the battlefields of East Prussia; rarities from the postwar period and the recent history of the Kaliningrad Region; fine art collections that trace changes in the regional art scene. Permanent exhibitions: the 'Journey Beyond the Edge' exhibition (archaeology); the 'Natural Riches of the Kaliningrad Region' hall; the 'Prussian Moscow Through the Eyes of Contemporaries' exhibition; the 'Year 1946.
