In the exhibition "Flora and Fauna of the Gagarin District" visitors can learn about the characteristics of the district's plant and animal life from the last glaciation to the present day. The display cases are organized according to the area's biocenoses: flood meadow, water body, lowland bog, and mixed forest in summer, late spring, autumn and winter. The paleontological case exhibits mammoth and steppe bison bones. The exhibition "Vybor" ("The Choice") tells about the first cosmonaut detachment. On interactive screens visitors can view biographies and photographs, and in the display cases see items that belonged to members of the first detachment. The interactive photo-documentary exhibition "100 Smiles of Gagarin. The Secret Formula of Success" recounts various stages of Yuri Gagarin's education, service and life based on photographs from 1945–1968. The exhibitions "I Look with Awe into the Depths of Centuries..." and "The Century of Revolutions and Transformations" tell the history of the Gzhatsk–Gagarin land. The town of Gzhatsk (now Gagarin) owes its origin to a decree of Peter I. Visitors can see items related to bonistics (banknote collecting), phaleristics (orders and decorations), coin collections of the 19th–20th centuries, objects made of precious metals, household utensils, merchants' trading tools, works of art, weapons, secular and church books, and much more. The exhibition "Gagarin District during the Great Patriotic War" introduces the heroic and tragic events that took place in the district during the Great Patriotic War (World War II).
