About exhibition

The first section of the historical exhibition, "Ancient and Medieval History of the Region, 8th millennium BC – 15th century", is based on archaeological materials and covers the main stages of settlement and development of the region by ancient peoples. The section "Udmurts: 16th – early 20th century" is devoted to recreating the Udmurt worldview through objects of the material and spiritual culture of the Udmurt people. The section "A Fair Is a Great Affair. 19th – early 20th century" presents a fair that has long been a place of interaction among representatives of the region's various ethnic cultures. In the section "Cities Began with Factories. 18th – early 20th century", emphasis is placed on the fact that factories were not only city-forming but also culture-forming factors for Udmurtia. The "Nature" exhibition presents the characteristics of natural landscapes, the diversity of wildlife in the Udmurt Republic, and the theme of human interaction with the environment. It displays the forest landscape and its typical inhabitants, seasonal changes, birdsong, and rare inhabitants of forests, fields, and water bodies.
