The Irkutsk Art Museum named after V. P. Sukachev is one of the oldest museums in Russia. Its collection comprises more than 24,000 works of fine art and is the richest in the territory from the Urals to the Far East. Here you can see a significant collection of Russian art with works by the most famous artists of the 18th–19th centuries – Aivazovsky, Repin, Savrasov, Shishkin, Klever, Lagorio, Polenov and many others. Russian art of the 20th century is represented by prominent names such as Konchalovsky, Petrov-Vodkin, Deineka, Plastov, Nesterov, Grabar, and others. The exhibition of classical Western European art includes works by Dutch, German, Italian and French masters of the 17th–19th centuries. The exhibition of Eastern countries features traditional art by masters from China, Japan and Mongolia. The admission ticket to the museum's main building also allows access to temporary exhibitions.
