About exhibition
Unified ticket for admission to the permanent exhibitions and temporary shows in the museum's main building. The permanent exhibitions here are: 'Russia – Vyatka. Peculiarities of National History' (0+), 'Nature of the Vyatka Region' (0+), 'Minerals and Rocks' (0+), and 'Living Nature' (0+). The 'Russia – Vyatka. Peculiarities of National History' exhibition occupies four halls and reflects various chapters of the Vyatka region's past from the earliest times up to the beginning of the 20th century. The 'Nature of the Vyatka Region' exhibition introduces the present as well as the region's geological and paleontological past. Three-dimensional dioramas recreate the region's natural complexes with their resident animals and birds, as well as the trees, grasses, fungi, mosses and lichens that grow there. Complementing the natural theme is the 'Minerals and Rocks' exhibition, which features rare specimens from the collection of the museum's founder, P. V. Alabin, donated by Emperor Alexander II. The 'Living Nature' hall provides an opportunity to learn about the natural diversity not only of the Kirov region but also to observe exotic animals from various parts of the world. In addition, 1 to 3 temporary exhibitions are held monthly in the main building; admission to these is also included in the unified ticket price.
